Gold Creek House is a renovation to an existing low set 1970’s fibro / brick bungalow. The existing house was hit hard during extensive rain periods in late 2021 and is now needing some TLC.

Our clients approached us in the hope to rectify the problem areas as well as address issues being caused by extensive heat load from the sun and issues around clarity of the entry sequence.

The brief is to reconfigure the existing lower level to accommodate 3 growing children as well as a new bathroom and laundry. An improved open plan living and games room will also be situated on the lower level and takes advantage of a double height volume to the west.

Upon arrival residents and visitors will be welcomed by a fine grain timber screen that provides shelter and presence to the western façade.

A new entry box extends to the south and creates a ‘sign post’ to visitors. The structure is mostly glass allowing guests to see through and beyond as they enter the house, creating a truly immersive experience of the landscape.
