Dickson House is an Alterations and Additions project that redefines the connection of the existing house to the site. A new open plan kitchen living and dining wing is added onto the back of the house in an L-Shape format that opens itself up to the back yard.

The existing bungalow is adjusted to contain a master suite and three additional bedrooms.

A new carport and entry way addresses the street in a semi transparent manner. A series of timber batten elements and planted trellis elements create an open and grounded relationship with the wider context and allow both the occupants and visitors to engage in a social dialogue.

New garden insertions below the house create a subtropical climate that welcomes people into the home.

Hall and Roberts were commissioned to produce a design concept and Development Application package in a quick turn around so that the owners could submit to council for approval.

Services provided included design concept sketching, planning, material scheduling and rendering to submit to council for approval. Approval was successfully obtained and the project has now commenced on site.
